Training

Public speaking and writing press releases have both been popular topics.

With the recent explosion in media outlets, the Cayman Islands now has a myriad of news sources – TV, internet, print and over 10 radio stations. GIS’s training officer does media relations training. The course’s primary objective is to promote a media-savvy public service.

Courses are designed to suit individual or group needs. Segments cover topics like

• What reporters would like from a source
• Reaching your audience
• Preparing for an interview and anticipating questions
• Looking and sounding good on TV
• Answering different kinds of questions
• Professional voice quality
• Ground rules for a successful interview

If you want to know more about the course, call GIS’ training officer, Wosila Rochester, 244-1761.
