Administration

Most importantly, our admin staff is also the Gazette staff.

For GIS administrative staffers, reception and switchboard duties combine with resolving in-house IT-crises, tracking attendance and vacation days and assisting the CIO with other personnel details.

Officers also fulfill the unit’s financial management obligations, but much of the admin team’s time is spent on all the activities that go into publishing government’s official newspaper, the Cayman Islands Gazette.

Gazette notices are collected and invoiced; subscription accounts and address lists are maintained. Content is formatted and edited and the team liaises with the printer before labeling, stuffing and sealing the envelopes and finally mailing the gazette. They also file copies for reference, compile and publish ordinary and extraordinary gazettes and supplements, copies of which are placed on the government website, www.gov.ky.
